router connection help!!

Hi all,

Really need some help here. Doing a favour for my parents, and have done a few bits and bobs to their pc, including replacing their BT voyager 105 with a nice little Linksys ADSL modem, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-059-LS&groupid=46&catid=115&subcat= .

Everything has gone fine, except from getting their pc to "see" the router. Got the pc at my house at the moment, and it cant see my router either.

Might be a noobie question (im not proud), but do I need to set up XP in any way so as to use an ADSL router? Can't even get into the routers settings page (192.168.1.1 one). Really need some help here.

Anyway have you made sure the pc is getting an address from dhcp (ipconfig /all from command promt?)

It is an ADSL modem/router.

Yup, on a "1394 net adaptor".

Says its connected, at 400mbps.

Ethernet port on back of pc has one green light, and one yellow light illuminated.

yup, got an ip there, 192.168.1.64

Default gateway is the same in ipconfig as the router that I am using.

Nothing at the moment, think I need to create a new connection on the broadband part of the networks page. Present one is trying to use WAN mini port...

Thats to come this afternoon. I ordered them a Linksys as I have an AG241, which I know how to set up.
