At the moment i have a Netgear router and it Fab for my PC and laptop both running XP.

But i have found my macbook always find the netgear router but not connected to the internet as pages wont load and having to keep refreshing to get the page up.

Dont know if Mac related or what.

So wonder if i need a new router that better for the macbook?

I'm using a NetGear DG834G - remember to login to the profile http://192.168.0.1 update the firmware.

I didn't have any issue with my Macbook to my router, was simply open, enter WEP code and connected - I did update my firmware before the mac tho.

Oh and don't forget to under wireless settings, click on "setup access list" and add the mac. I didn't have to for the mac but my downstairs PC needed adding before it was allowed to connect onto the net (eventho it shows connected to the router wirelessly)

What firmware number is yours as you got the same router as me.

Also when i go into Network Diagnostics the internet icon goes red amber green it alter every so often. Not too sure if it hardware related or my interenet provider but dont appear to have the problem on xp laptop

any router should work with apple as they use the same network standards as pcs. try the firmware update!

check all your settings... its that doesnt work try setting the mac with a static IP and DNS. Good luck

edit/ wow its you again rookies! your not having to much mac related luck this week!
