The wireless signal on the Bebox isn't very strong so I can't get a connection in the room next door, my Belkin 7633 also had problems with a weak signal but I could get a connection. I've been looking at the Netgear 834GT and 834N, would one of these be a good choice?

I use a DG834N on my Be connection and have never had a moments bother with it. The netgears will be your best bet as you can use the UberGT Firmware (at your own risk!) to seriously tweak your line settings.

As your having wireless problems I would go with the GT as you can also change the antenna for a more powerful one if you find your still getting wireless drop outs, as the 834N is a sealed unit with an internal antenna.

I use the DG834GT (Sky Branded) on Be Unlimited and the wireless range is a good 25% better. Sync speed isn't quite as good as i loose about half a meg compared with the Be Box, but it seems also quite a lot more stable. The Be Box used to re-start about once a day, but i actually managed to solve that issue by going on their forums > FAQ.

Go for one if the price justifies it. If it is quite expensive then don't bother because their isn't a great deal to be gained unless you really know what you are doing with the netgears and custom settings etc.

Cheers, I thought the N wireless band had a wider range, suppose that's all down to the antennas though right?

Yeah you are right, N does have a wider range. They're both great routers and will perform perfectly on a Be connection especially with the 3rd party firmware.

I'm using an old Sky Branded DG834GT flashed with the uberGT firmware.

It was pretty simple to get working and I seemed to gain better stability and a slightly higher sync speed.

Plus port forwarding is ver easy to setup on the DG834 :)

As above, I had pants wireless coverage with the ST 585v6 so got a DG834GT and put on the UberGT beta 4 firmware and signal is good/very good all over my house and I also tweaked my SNR % from 9.5meg to 12.5 :D

Very pleased indeed!

What version of firmware is everyone else using out of interest?

I'm on UberGT1.06 1.02.09 Beta 4

GT it is then, cheers for the help guys.

The wireless problems I've been having are really annoying, the computer in the other room is only like 10 metres away but the signal has to bounce around a couple of solid concrete walls lol.
