Router for connecting phone to laptop

Hello

I need to mirror the screen of my phone to my laptop and have found a app called reflector 2 which looks perfect for this. In order for this to work I need a wifi connection for both devices to connect to, but it does not need an internet connection.

I wont have a wifi connection available so I figured I would just take a router with me to act as a wifi point.

Do you think something like this would be suitable? Is there anything I should be aware of when setting this up?

I'm sure there are solutions where you can do this via a USB cable, wouldn't that be simpler?

I have that device and it'll do the job, but before you spend any money check if creating an ad-hoc network between the devices sorts you out.

If you're on Windows for example like this:

I did look into that but ideally I would like to be wireless.
