Router for Fibre

After a long wait Fibre broadband has finally been released on my area, i've phoned up my current ISP Aquiss and i've upgraded from the Standard broadband to the Fibre. He said i'll need a router that supports the Fibre as they don't supply one, he recommended "Netgear" what does everyone else recommend. I don't have a huge budget so maybe around £100. I'm currently using an TP-LINK N600

i'm assuming you have the ADSL version? One of the LAN ports can function as a WAN port so the cheapest option is getting an Openreach modem (Huawei Echolife HG612) from the bay and plug it into the WAN port.

It's the middle one, the 8980.

Would this work instead of the modem or would I still need to connect it to a modem

The suggestion was to buy a secondhand HG612 (VDSL2 modem) and connect it between your existing router (using its EWAN port) and the phone socket. Not sure how your question fits with that.
