Router for FTTP?

I have finally got our FTTP service up and running with BT. However, the HH5 doesn't reach all bits of the flat (thick walls) and I'm looking to see what sort of routers to replace it with.

I don't need the fastest experimental WiFi speeds etc, but what I do want is good coverage that is stable with lots of devices connected (as quite a few of devices like consoles etc. will be WiFi connected) because of where the FTTP ONT is in our flat.

I have looked at things like Netgear R7000, AC86, Airport Extreme but there just seems too much choice and nothing stands out. I've also thought about stuff like Ubiquiti - but suspect it is overkill! and I could lose a weekend configuring/installing it all!

I don't really have a budget in mind, so what would people recommend?
