Hi all

I’m after a bit of assistance I’m looking for a suitable router for an ADSL2 connection, the line is very long 60db noise wise so I think I need one with a Broadcom chip set in it, I currently have an ASUS DSL N55U which is a great router on the wireless side of things but I don’t think it can cope with the long line I have.

There is no chance of fibre where I am for some time so I have to stick with the slow ADSL that I have.

I have a number of items connected to the router via a wired connection about 15 in total and 5 wireless devices or so.

I do live in a 3 tier house so I need the wireless range to get to the top of the house for the I-Pad ECT I have to say that the ASUS is excellent on the wireless side of things.

So all that said I’m looking for a more stable router with the same wireless range of the ASUS if anyone knows of a good one from personal experience.

And I haven’t really got a budget at this time.

From memory Netgear DG834's are quite good with long lines and Billion 8800's also get good shouts at coping well with long lines.

For wireless coverage you may be better keeping hold of the ASUS and sticking it into AP mode at the other end of your house and having 2 wireless networks.

Only certain DG384s had the Broadcom chipset, such as the DG384GT. They are rather old though so you'll want it only acting as a modem.
