Router for Uni Network

I've noticed a lot of people with routers set up in the uni residence so I decided to try mine, an old Netgear WGT624 so that I can use my Sonos speaker. However for whatever reason mine doesn't work. It seems to just loop on the Uni's authentication page. So I'm just wondering is there a setting I need to change to get it to work or should I be looking at getting a new router as this one is too old? Not too clued up on networking.

Only problem now is that my router seems to disconnect every 2-5 minutes, any advice on that?
