Router for virgin

Hi all

I currently have the dir-615 for my 10 meg package, which has been brilliant for all our wireless devices. Now I'm looking for a router that I can limit bandwidth speeds etc on certain bandwidth hogging computers. Something simple to use don't really want to have to use those custom firmware things....

Flash it with DD-WRT, job done.

It really isn't complicated at all. If you don't like it, just put the OEM firmware back on, no money spent.

If you need a hand with any of the settings then post here, but there should be enough info between the help on the firmware itself and also that site to get you going.

DD-WRT is amazing but it's risky as well! I've bricked one unit with it as it wouldn't flash back to stock

I think for some routers you have to follow a certain method to flash back to stock, but DD-WRT is great so no reason to revert

Yep there are certan means to along with hard recover means and hardcore hacks but there are for the like of TP revert files

Op, how is your range with that router?

I have the same one and the range is poor, sitting about 7 feet away and keeping line of sight it can sometimes drop on my iPhone

I have found it faultless with my laptop but now I got an iPad it can drop out if I'm upstairs , but I think maybe the wifi isn't as good on the iPad....
