I have had loads of problems with Xbox Live recently to the point GTA is pretty much unplayable and using Live is a struggle. When I check my Speedtouch's settings (I'm on AOL and got one of the grey speedtouch wireless boxes, don't know which model) it shows the devices connected to the wireless (the 360 the Wii and my PC are the ones I'm currently using, there is another PC, my brothers iPhone and my N95 but they hardly ever are on so can't be part of what I think is the problem). Anyway, I started getting this idea a while ago when I tried to assign an application to my 360 in the hopes to get an open NAT, whenever I selected my 360 from the drop down list of devices, the page would then refresh (not a problem) but instead of loading back with 360 in the drop down box ready for me to select the application, it loaded the Wii up in the drop down box as the device I had selected. I had also recently had my 360 replaced so this one came up as a different device on my router, but that isn't the problem as I had these connection issues before.
I figured out how to get an open NAT setting, by putting on UPNP, but this didn't help in GTA, and infact if I turn off UPNP I have more chance of connecting, I then have to turn it back on after connecting to avoid being booting for a strict NAT. Now, when I look at the devices connected to my router, and turn my 360 on or off and refresh the page, it sometimes shows my PC as having disconnected or my Wii. It does it randomly with the devices, is there some way they have become mixed up? I put my 360 to always use the same address as well if that makes any difference. The final thing I have noticed is when I was trying to connect to a game in GTA it would make a device appear as if it had disconnected.
I really want to sort this out as it is annoying me. I want to buy a PS3 but I'm already doubtful as it is so expensive, and it would be even worse for me to end up buying it and I couldn't play online. What can I do to sort this out, I'm apprehensive of resetting my router completely and starting over with it, as it took so long to get it set up in the first place and whenever something goes wrong with the internet or router my whole family automatically blames me when I have done nothing.
Oh, and it keeps disconnecting from the internet (the router not my Wifi disconnecting) and when I restart my router it takes ages to connect to the internet again (like 10 minutes).
Thanks.
