Right, as some of you may have noticed from the few times ive posted in here, I really am clueless about networking etc.

Probably be getting Bulldog 8Mb sometime soon at my student place (this is decided and yes I know they can be crap etc. but thats a chance im taking)

aaaaanyway, the house is mahoosive with 8 people living in it, so looking to go wireless to save on the mess, but a couple of people want wired because they don't have a wireless network card and would prefer it for whatever reason.

So, my question is, what Router for a reasonable price will be able to accept at least 4 wireless connection, preferably 6, and upto 4 wired. Preferably with modem included as well, so we can pretty much go phone socket > filter > router > computers.

Help me please guys :)

A cheaper option than maybe hunting around for an adsl modem/router with lots of lan sockets (my terminology is waaaaaaaaaaay off here sorry, I too am a newbie) would maybe something like a Netgear DG632 with 1usb and 1 rj45 connector, you could then plug that into a cheap switch and connect the pcs up that way?

In our house, the way we have done things is :

ADSL >>> Draytek Vigor 2600 >>> Spare PC with 4 NIC's ( 1 input ... 2 wired to my room and my flat mates room ... 1 to the airport wireless router ) this way myself and my friend have wired connections, the other two who don't really use computers much have wireless through the apple airport :)

Might want to consider the DG834PN too - it's got better wireless capabilities so it's more likely everyone in the house will ge ta good, solid signal. Also more likely to be able to handle multiple wireless connections without issues.
