Hi I have a NETGEAR DGN2200, I have got it linked up to my Xbox (wired) and I was getting my NAT type is wrong. So I tried turning NAT off which I didn't feel comfortable with so turned it back on as it didn't stop the NAT warning coming up as I was trying to search for a party to join for say Halo 3 for instance. So I tried setting up it's own Firewall Rule which has seemed to solve the problem. However, Just to clarify if I have done this right. This is a list of what I done if you could please tell me if it is OK like this.
Turned UPnP off
Default DMZ Server I put my Xbox IP in this and clicked Save
Reserved my Xbox IP address
Set-up a Static Route for my Xbox
Set-up Firewall Rules to pair with the Xbox.
I set them all in Inbound Services.
I had read somewhere that it was not clever to turn UPnP off, but what shall I do?
It has stopped the NAT warning's coming up and I can connect to games now and play them.
Please tell me if this is correct and if not how could I fix it?
Many Thanks.
