Hi everyone.

I just purchased this router here http://www.netgear.co.uk/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/wndr3700.aspx#tab-techspecs

So im setting it up and realise theres no port like my old router that uses this lead

It only has an ethernet like connection.

Do I need a special cable to get this up and running? Or a modem?

I have no idea what to do next lol

if you are coming form ethernet ie cable/viring/etc then you dont need the RJ11 cable in the pic. instead you connect an ethernet cable from the cable supplied modem to the wifi router.

The N600 can either be a ADSL router/modem or just an ethernet based wifi access point.

Ok.

What im trying to do is connect it directly to my adsl filter that connects to my phone line. But the router doesnt have the rj11 connection, just an ethernet port for internet.

I think you have the ethernet only version here.

they make a version with and without an ADSL modem and I think you have the one without. :(

You'll need an appropriate standalone _DSL modem to connect to the router via Ethernet. You might find a cheap ADSL modem... somewhere... one day.

For ADSL-based connections, one typically uses a router that has a DSL modem built in (RJ11).
