Router / Home Network Problem

Hi,

I've got one of these D-Link DIR-615 Routers.

I have it plugged in via Ethernet to my Lounge Desktop and via wireless with 3 other devices.

Problem is, when the lounge desktop is switched on, as soon as it POSTS it knocks out the internet connection for 5-10 seconds on all the other devices that are connected at the time. Which obviously is a pain in the bum if I'm downloading or playing a game online on another laptop/console.

Any clues on how to fix it? I've tried upgrading the firmware on the router, but still the problem exists.

Try setting the desktop pc (lounge pc) to a static ip address within the same subnet.

strange problem, have never experienced something similar myself.

On the lounge PC check the boot order in the BIOS to make sure it is not looking for network boot device.

Cheers, already got each device assigned a static IP.

Will look in to the BIOS when I get home. Thanks again.
