I wiped friends PC and reinstalled everything. All great.

Using wireless usb adapter tried to connect to internet. It kept saying password or passphrase wrong. I tried the USB adapter in my laptop and put in password and it worked fine!!

So, i once again formatted PC and installed just windows and then plugged in USB adapter, entered password. Still it says wrong password etc!! It is the right password!

I went into router and double checked. It was the right one.

In the end, as a temporary measure i disabled security on the router (Until i can get help on here) and they were then able to connect fine.

Any ideas people? Ta

Did the above guys but still no joy. Doesnt ask for a pin

As i said, when i take the USB adapter from my mates pc and plug it into my laptop and enter the password it connects no problem!

Is the proper drivers installed for wireless?

Can you edit the network settings to take a password?

First post you said entered password and it's wrong, then said it doesn't ask for it? Which ones happening ATM.

Ok, before PC formatted all worked ok. Password worked fine.

When the adapter is plugged into PC it loads and then I have to put in password for network. This is where it states wrong password even though it is the correct one as I tried it on my laptop!

Could it be some other setting that has gone haywire?

I tried to change password but it still came up with same error message.

It is using the best driver.

It may be the security option but can't get to that. Will try that when I go round my mates. It could be that I guess but when it asks for password it doesn't give an option to change those settings or say they are wrong. Wouldn't it default to the correct one. It normally does this for me when I have done it in the past.

I think the adapter is a TP Link one.
