I have a Netgear DG834N on V1.01.06 firmware and over the last few days it keeps dropping the ADSL connection, so my PC and laptop don't have an internet connection - the only way to resolve is to reboot the router. This can happen several times a day.

I checked the F2S site (my ISP) and they say no issues with ADSL, also a few forums no-one mentions any ISP side issues.

I see this in the logs of the router - does anyone know what this stuff means?

Tue, 2008-05-20 23:41:12 - CHAP authentication success
Tue, 2008-05-20 23:41:15 - LCP down.
Tue, 2008-05-20 23:41:18 - Initialize LCP.
Tue, 2008-05-20 23:41:18 - LCP is allowed to come up.

I have the same router and the exact same problem :) I downloaded routerstats and looked at my noise margins:

Downstream 7.4DB in noise margin and 23.0 DB upstream.

Line attenuation Downstream 27 and upstream 13.5

Are they ok?

is the line of noise margin straight or up and down a lot?

here is my routerstats last week when i had problem:
