Router loosing internet connection

I have the RT-AC87U router but only since yesterday i keep loosing internet connectivity for a few seconds then it reconnects. This happens nearly every five minutes. I do not have Duel Wan enabled either. The firmware has not been updated recently either.

any help on this is appreciated

the router is connected to a KCOM lightstream fibre box, dont know what the name of it is though.

the name of the box is B-FOCuS O-4G2PCM UK ECI Telecom ltd

Ok this is now sorted, it wasnt a problem with my router but will a problem with my isp. All weekend we had this problem in Hull, finally sorted on Sunday night around 23:45 :-)
