Is there a specific reason to why a router would do this or could it be a number of reasons for losing connection?

Greetings,

Might find the ip settings have been set to manual,
Then when another device connects there is a conflict with the first device,

A bit more info would help,
When the connection "Drops" do you get any message on screen?
Is the connection wired or wireless?

When the connection drops, the network icon in Windows indicates the yellow warning sign showing no Internet access.

The connection is wireless. I will check the router later, as I'm currently using a direct connection at the minute.

Thank you for the reply.

Greetings,

First off have just the one pc connected and do ipconfig,
Click start - where is says " start Search " type " command " you will see command prompt at the top click on it,
In the command screen type " ipconfig " and press enter,

Make a note of the ip address and default gateway,

Then connect the other computer and do the same on both computers.
If both computers have the same ip address you will need to change this.

Windows Vista

You can use the same info fow windows 7 but look for Change adapter settings not manage network connections.

Hope that helps.

All connections have different IP addresses, could it be overheating or downloading so much that it packs in?
