I'm looking for a new router with dsl modem, does any body have any suggestions.

would like it to have a USB port for network storage if possible.

After spending years and lots of money trying to find a solidly reliable ADSL MODEM/Router I have given up. I have had loads of them, from Netgear, LinkSys and Belkin and they have all, ultimitely been a let down in the reliability department, needing reboots weekly, daily or when I tried to carry out a particular task.

In the end, I bought a sperate ADSL modem and a Buffalo Wireless Router (Runs DD-WRT and has USB Port) for less than £100 and they are rock solid together. I don't have to reboot the set-up either every few days, when doing a modest amount of downloading from iTunes or when playing a couple of hours of XBox live.

I wouldn't go back to an ADSL Modem/Router now.

I have a Billion 7800N ADSL modem/router, and it's absolutely rock solid. I had a Netgear DGND3700 before that, which was a disaster.

+1 for the 7800N. I've had plenty of other modems/router (admittedly not on this line) and none of them were as solid as this. 56dB line too.

hmm its tempting to buy the 7800N but does it have a usb port for storage and is it worth £120 or would it be cheaper to go with JudgeC's suggestion ?

I'm also interested in the Billion 7800N. Have you used it with any game consoles, I heard it was a problem with the PS3 but can't remember what the problem was.

The 7800N doesn't have a USB port. I never tried the USB port on the DGND3700, since I have a home server, but several people have reported on the Netgear forums that the USB file sharing doesn't work very well, especially with large drives.

I only paid £89.99 for the 7800N. It was well worth it at that price. It's a rock solid router. I wasted £119.98 on the DGND3700.

The 7800N works fine with my PS3. It's been absolutely rock-solid since the day I bought it. A total contrast to the DGND3700. Netgear should be ashamed of shipping such a buggy product.
