hey, im on windows 7 beta, 64 bit. My problem is that most of the time when i log on i get the wireless bars with a yellow triangle with a ! in it, saying theres no internet access, whereas other computers are fine. What could be causing this?

thanks!

edit: tried turning off for 10 seconds, doesnt work. i have a netgear router, the one that everyone recommends for o2/be broadband.

btw router is a netgear DG834GT running the latest official firmware

Is the triangle in Device manager if so its a driver issue. other than that from a cmd promt type ipconfig /all and see if you are getting an ip address.
It could be wep or you encryption key wrong
Not picking up an ip try setting the ip statically.
Can you see any other routers?

yea can see othe routers, i guess i could try doing a static ip, its a little triangle on the wireless, and its odd cause sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.

yeh, this is a common problem with "beta" and release candidates, i remember when they did the vista one, i had a lot of trouble with mine, even after installing all the drivers.

it could be if you have many securit settings enabled on the router, if you have a hidden SSID, un hide it, the way both vista and windows 7 works uses the wireless device in a different way to XP.

ping works when i have a net connection. when i dont get one if i turn my router off for 10 secs and then back on it usually works :S getting so sick of this, might go back to xp

thanks dazsly, i've not done that before? can multiple users still get online? not really sure how to do it.
