For the past few months sometimes the forum or other forums would stop working for a few minutes. Then it would work again, if I start a new page, BBC site would work, but OCUK would just go to "page cannot be displayed". A few mins later it will work or if i reset the router it will work again. so i am guessing its the router that's faulty, sometimes i leave my PC on overnight downloading, and wake up and check my email on the iphone but it won't work until i reset the router.

Also, my xbox live keep getting disconnected too.

I have a 3com 3CRWDR100A-72, had it 5/6 years now, may be its dying?

If so, what would you recommend? Looking at the Linksys WAG160N.

try setting static DNS entries on your PCs. I've seen this before where DNS relay on some routers just stops working randomly. It's often fixed in a firmware update, so have a look around. You can fix this by setting DNS entries in DHCP to be the actual servers not the router as a workaround.

The WAG160N is good but unless you have wifi N then it's not really necessary.
Personal preference is an ethernet ADSL modem + WRT54GS with tomato firmware. WRT54GL is even better if budget will stretch.
