Router or Filter?

When ever I get a incoming phone call, my router loses connection and there is really bad interference on the phone line. The router then re-establishes connection once the call has ended.

Is this likely to be a faulty router or dodgy filter? Both have worked flawlessly in the past, and a firmware upgrade of the router hasn't resolved it.

That's what I thought, but couldn't see that there's much that could go wrong with it. Better a filter than a router though so I'll see if I can get a new one.

Check ALL phone sockets have filters attached. Including your SKY, FAX and Alarm system.

The filter must ALWAYS be attached to the socket first. Never try plugging anything into the phone socket before attaching a filter.

Your description fits the above perfectly. OR a broken filter.

Also - double check how any phone extensions have been wired up.
