Hi there little lost with a router problem.
Had a d link DSL G624T MOdem/router, Used it for a few weeks never used since borrowed it to a friend got the router back and about 3 months later needed to use it.
Now here's where the problem starts. There is no wireless light so though connect to the router settings via a ethernet cable.
Insert the cable shows on router that its connected Via port 1-4 But it comes up with unknown network or something along those lines.
Hit the diagnose under Windows 7 starter and it eventually comes up with invalid IP.
Now i cant even log into the routers settings page and the re set button on the back of the router seems to do nothing.
Is my router broken or is there something i can do.
I'm unsure if the guy who borrowed it has changed the routers ip to something silly or another setting.
I dont see the guy anymore to ask what he has done.

ANy help would be good.

Thanks

Reset it back to factory defaults and try again. Usually involves pressing a tiny button as the router is powered on, or something along those lines. All will be explained in the manual.

As stated above the re set button is not doing anything.
Sorry I didn't spot you saying that, you made your opening post quite difficult to read.

Again reverting to factory defaults usually it involves holding down the reset button as the device is powered on. Make sure you're doing it right, the manual will detail exactly how.

Yeah tried all that. The manual just says keep your finger on the button for at least 7 seconds.
Had my finger holding it down for over 30 seconds and still nothing..
