I have a router and two computers... I have configured the router to give wired access only to a computer.

I haven't plugged the second computer in yet, when I do...

1) Will the two computers be on the same network, hence able to access each other?

2) Will I have to further configure the router or will they just both be able to use the internet without further effort?

1) Possibly, both would need to be in the same workgroup/domain (iirc)
2) Yes, should automatically, just work.

1. yes, it would be easier if the same username and password exists on both machines though.

2. You may have to set up the routers DHCP range to so that each PC gets a different IP address when it boots up. This would be required for sharing files too.

how have you done this ?

routers will normally automatically grant access to the net to any1 that plugs into the router wired. It will automatically have a connection if its wired, and it just assigns it the correct IPaddress/default gateway/subnet.

whatever you did to stop that from happenning. You will need to change it so that it allows both PCs access.
