Hi,

I've got a terrible headache reading up on routers..

Currently I've been provided with a router by Talk talk and as you know its not as good as it could be. Well thats on the ground floor and to it I've got connected it is tv, sky box via ethernet cable. Right now I'm sitting directly above it working on a pc which has been connected wirelessly. I've also got 2 further laptops that run of it wirelessly (limited usage on where they can be run as depends on the signal from the router).

The question I have is what needs to be done in order for me to extend the signal to the loft where later on I expect to place a ps3 (preferably via an ethernet cable)?

I've checked out wireless bridges and access points??

Does extending a phone line to each room help out??

Thanks,
macdadi

Powerline adapters would be a safe bet, the more cables the better with networking IMO

Powerline adapter on each floor and hook a switch/wireless AP if needed.
