Why is it that i have to restart my router multiple times a week to keep my internet working properly? I know im quite a heavy user with multiple devices, gaming and constant web browsing. But i've had this issue with just about every provider ive been with. Is it just that the sky/virgin hub at fault? is this something everyone has to live with? is there a solution i.e. buying a better router/modem?

You shouldn't have to reboot it. I have never rebooted mine apart from following FW upgrades.

Call the ISP and get them to check the line?

Well this has been the case for as long as i can remember in every place that i have lived with different providers, Virgin, BT, Sky.

Years back when i would torrent that would make it grind to a halt in a pretty short period. I would start to get high pings, lag and eventually timing out. I have to remove the power for 30 seconds and then everything will be back to normal.
