Router settings - a little advise

Hello Guys, i just ordered the Belkin F5D8231UK4 300Mbps N1 Wireless Cable Router going cheap at ocuk, i needed a new one and seemed like a good deal as it popped up on a deal site i use.

Anyways,

do these settings look ok? was unsure on what bandwidth to choose? also selected the older technology for my house mates old style laptops/devices to connect to

Unless you have an old wireless network card/dongle that is limited to WPA, I'd selected WPA2 only instead of WPA/WPA2 security.

I would also change wireless mode to G+N, if you have multiple machines that support one or the other. Or change to just G if limited to that on all machines. No point supporting B unless you have a requirement for it.

No idea about it. I imagine it relates to G+N wireless mode for the 20/40 option.

If limited to G only wireless, see if setting it up as that then prevents you setting 20/40 bandwidth.
