as topic my router stays connected to the net, but comp cant access it, it needs a reboot from the comp to re-connect to the net, a router re-boot doesn't do anything

the comp looks like it is connected as my icon in network and sharing center says so, and when re-booting the router it shows its connecting etc

when this problem happens i also cannot log onto my router

any ideas?

Sounds like my BTHomeHub, im constantly having to restart it.

Shouldn't need to restart your computer, only restart the router then reconnect to it.

What is the router and are you connected via wireless or cable?

I used to get that, i found it was dodgy nForce network drivers.
Play around with older or newer versions, or get a seperate NIC.
:).

Have you tried disabling the re-enabling the the network card instead of rebooting.

It might have something to do with DHCP, if i set any of the connections on our computers to a static ip address i get problems. Sometimes there will connect to the router, sometimes not. I cannot connect to the internet if i use a static ip - don't know why, it's very annoying :(

yes tried that, and makes no difference :(

Have you tried hitting it with a hammer? Or maybe using for a game of footie?

I'm considering doing one of these with my BTHomeHub
