Looking for a replacement for my Plusnet Hub One. I keep getting dropouts in connection and sometimes facebook videos just wont load and buffer for ages, same with webpages. Speed is good and syncing at 76mb so assuming it must just be a poor quality router.

I can't afford to spend massive amounts but would like something with good WIFI speeds (assuming this is standard now anyway) and gigabit ethernet.

I've been looking at the VR600 but this is very top end of the budget, or the VR200. Are there any other routers I should be looking into?

Does it only happen at certain times (or days) of the week? Might be worth trying speed tests at different times of the day, just to see if you are suffering from congestion at the exchange.

Also have you tried using different DNS servers i.e. Google's see if this helps?

If you do get a new router, I'm sure the VR600 is a decent router. I have the VR900 and it's brilliant! :)

Not really certain times or days, have done a few speed tests and most sit at 72 down and 19 up which I can't really complain at. I haven't tried any different DNS servers, wonder if I can set that in the router rather than the actual devices?

Looking at it the VR range seem to be most popular at the moment.
