Is it possible to connect a router to a router? is this what we call a daisy chain?

i want to connect a netgear dg834g to another router dg834g is it possible?

What are you trying to achieve? I'd imagine that config would just enable you to have 6 switch ports as opposed to 4 (if it's a 4 port switch as well).

Yes it is possible to connect a router to a router but it is messy and a bitch to do as you have 2 routing tables to maintain. I dont know what it is you are trying to achieve with this setup?
You would also have to hard cable them to one another as I dont believe these have the facility to network to one another wirelessly.

Lex,
....what's with all these wireless router to router posts ?

tell us why you won't just install some Cat5e

because wires cannot get to where i need the connection. its the same issue but i found out the setup for the wireless is able to be slightly different.

[how do i post a picture]

I will have the router wired to the wireless access point which is wirelessly connected to a workstation. Thats a good setup rather than router. There's no need for a router because the access point has an ethernet port which the router can be wired into and then the wireless AP can connect to the workstation. Thats better right?

Hang on. You talked about using a netgear dg834g which has a modem built into it. If this is the case ditch your modem and just use the dg834g. Other wise yes just connect a wireless access point to your existing modem and install some sort of wireless network adapter in your pc / workstation. Networking as with many things in life, the old acronym KIS applies, Keep It Simple!
