I have had a Netgear WGR614 since 08 (I think, could be 07) to replace an old and faulty Belkin Router. It has been acting up in the Wireless department for a few months. Virgin were doing maintenance in my area back in october making the internet go on/off for a couple of minutes for a few days. This carried on *only wirelessly* through my router so my friend backed up and restored my settings. This cured the problem a little; now it only happens for a few hours, and especially at night. Now it is really bugging me. The only thing that is wired is my Xbox so that is pretty flawless but everything else is wireless - PS3, Laptop, iPhone etc. The firmware is up to date and it worked flawlessly until Virgins maintenance. I dont think I can get a replacement from the shop I bought it from because I didnt buy it; thus I dont have the receipt. Does anyone know if this is a hardware problem or a settings problem that I can fix or would it be better if I bought a more up to date router with better range (it is loses a bar of quality when im sitting across the room). Cheers.
