Router with Hardware VPN recommendations?

What it all the recent love for these GLi Net devices, where is their provenance from to get this much love so quickly ?

They have been around for over 10 years and started UK supply the last 5 or so iirc.

People are just tired of paying out the nose for crappy hardware (e.g. Asus). When a company comes around that gives devices competitvely priced and has full open source software support with OpenWRT they gain favor quick.

There really isn't anything wrong with the GL-MT6000 as an example. Dual 2.5 Gbps, Wifi 6 for just over £100 that has OpenWRT Kernel v6.6 support (Asus is on kernel v4 btw).

Just because you haven't been aware of them, doesn't mean they haven't been a solid provider of hardware and a community favourite for many years at this point. They just don't seem to pay reviewers to schill for them like certain other brands, they don't need to.
