Router with the largest wifi range

I use powerline adaptors to get the wireless signal around my old house with thick walls. I have three of them around the house to ensure a wireless signal everywhere

I use TP link PA411 kit and two extra plugs. There are other makes as well. Simply plug the network cable from the router into the master plug and put it in a wall socket. The plug with wifi goes into a socket in the room where you don't have wifi, push the pair buttons on both and you get wifi in the room where you previously had none. You can clone your ssid and password so that it works seamlessly as a single wifi network.

What speeds do you get with them? I have TP-Link AV200's or something and wifi and ethernet max out at around 35mb/s

No cost effective router will do it. You've got a couple of options really.

Powerline which is a simple and easy way to do it but it's more expensive and is limited in its speed (especially depending on the age of your wiring).

Run cat5e/cat6 to rooms around the house and hook up an AP or a router in wifi extender mode.

Entirely depends on the house though.

About 53 Mb/s wireless. Wired is the same speed as being wired to my router which maxes my Internet connection at around 74Mb/'s. There are probably faster wireless ones available now, I've had these a couple of years now.

You should consider adding an access point as replacing with another router at your existing location won't make a difference.

If you can route ethernet cable to where you want to place the access point to go that is the best option, otherwise use powerline kits.

The trick would be finding high-gain dual-band antennas.

I believe the N66U does only have external antennas. Some routers use external antennas for 5GHz and internal for 2.4GHz, but you'd need to check.

The other potential issue is that higher-gain antennas tend to be more directional.
