Hi all, this is going to be long, so bare with me!

I have a Netgear WNDR3700 wireless router plugged into the fiber router that provides our TV & internet. This is via patch lead that go's from one of the four ports on the fiber router into the WAN port of the WND3700.

I then ran cat5 to a switch in the front room and the the 2nd port of the fiber router to connect up the HDTV decoder box.

This works well.

Today I ran some more cat5 to the other end of the house, plugged it into the switch in the front room and plonked a switch at the other end, plugged another HTDV decoder box in and now have 2 working tv's!

This got me thinking. I have a wired connection all the way to the other end of the house now, so lets try and get the internet down there through the same cable.

I plugged a patch lead from one of the regular gigabit ports on the WNDR3700 into the 3rd port of the fiber router. I then plugged my laptop into the switch at the other end of the house via a patch lead and was able DHCP from the netgear router, surf the net etc. At this point i'm thinking it's great, but then the trouble starts!!!

It seems that the wireless part of the router doesnt want to function now  ??

I was hoping to also install a wireless repeater with ethernet ports into another part of the house and hook up a 3rd TV decoder box (rather than running cables), but if I cant get the wireless to function im screwed.

Anyone have any ideas? The netgear router seems quiet comprehensive and supports some advanced settings I can tinker with if someone can point me in the right direction.

Many thanks in advance if you read this far and can offer some help.

Matt.
