Well without knowing what your modem/router is..

However, the rangemax is about as good as it gets for range (output) on Netgear products so it's likely that it will give an improved range/output over your modem/router.
Plug it in the back of your modem/router, set it to a different channel than default and of your router (from 6 to 1 for example). It might also be worth turning down the power output on you modem/router completely so only your access point can be 'seen' or even unscrew the antenna from it.

Hello there,

I'm considering the Netgear WPN824 Rangemax Wireless Router (NW-075-NG) over my current Netgear DG834G modem/router but I have a few questions..

1) Is it compatible with ADSL 1 ?? (I assume its backwards seeing as it says ADSL 2+)
2) How good is the coverage / interference robustness ?
3) Does anyone have one?

Thinking of getting one in the next two days y'a see :)

well, what i did was buy the wpn834 and put it in place of my wired router, i wasnt impressed, the router was only about 5metres away admittedly behind 3 walls and at ground level i only got about 50% signal.
so i used the wired (dg834) router again, bought the rangemax access point connected that to the wired router and put it upstairs, now above 80% all the time and up to 96%.
but i now have a redundant wpn834 wireless router
hope this helps.
i have also tried the netgear 54mbps access point and i think the signal stength was higher if you are willing to be tied to 54mbps, and it is about £30-40 cheaper
ps i have a netgear rangemax wpn511 cardbus in the laptop also
