Routers with USB connection?????

Yep

Our Wanadoo connection was through a USB modem too

We just got a ADSL Modem/Router from Belkin and its great :)

Upto 4 wired PC's and lots of Wireless PC's/Laptop's

Yeah just get a combo switch/gateway/hub/router thingy. You don't need the modem, and I believe you can add a network hub later on if you need more than 4. I use Netgear DG814.

You don't need drivers unlike a modem so OS support is irrelevant, it's more secure, DHCP is sorted automatically, less resource hungry, and being it's a switch you've got possility of LAN.

On;y reason I'm a lil cautious is because the way the tech guy on the phone tells it, gettin the modem set to pipex is a pain
Rubbish. As long as you have the required information (username, password etc.) it couldn't be easier.

In most cases you just hook the router up to a computer via ethernet, bang the appropriate IP into your web browser to get the control panel, enter your details and you're good to go. Could do it in under 30 seconds if you knew what you were doing :)
