Routes for Scotland

Has anyone got any routes they wouldn't mind sharing for Scotland? It's my home, but I've not ridden there in decades! I heard all the roads in the UK have gone to ****, so is it even worth it now?

Additionally, has anyone gotten the ferry from Amsterdam to Newcastle? Right now, to go with a motorcycle at the end of April for a 2 week trip... It costs 800 euros........

Might need to take the Eurotunnel again.

Have you tried the SW from Kirkcudbright across to the Mull of Galloway via Whithorn. Some fantastic scenery and roads if you follow the coast routes.

Road conditions are iffy. Lots of potholes no matter where you go. However the NW (Oban and up) had good roads last time I drove that way a year or so ago
