I'm wondering if its feasable to run a RJ11 cable outside the house at all, if so what cable recommended, what brand does suitable cables(guessing 10-15metres of very good quality).

At the moment on Be* i can get 11-12mb on the extensions through the house but 16-18 on the test socket behind the master socket. Our extension wiring is awful and noisy added to the fact its going to be impossible to replace.

The problem is, wireless, i generally hate so really need the 3 upstairs computers used for downloading and lots of gaming, to be wired and not have cables trailing up the stairs.

I want to stick a high quality filtered replacement faceplate on the master socket so I can filter out the ADSL right there ignoring all the crappy extension cabling, then connect the existing extensions after the filter which should minimise or completely get rid of any noise caused. We've had holes drilled in the wall at the front of the house and the upstairs computer room previously for a Virgin net/tv install which means a cable from the filtered master socket, through hole, up outside of house to the computer room seems like the best method.

Is that possible, fine and should work? Then do I need to get specific kind of RJ11 cable, extra shielding, some brand that does weatherproof cabling thats much thicker or something along those lines.

If you're going to run cable outside for the phone why not just run a bit of Cat5 and leave the router where the phone line is?

because that would mean multiple cables for all the computers, also get pretty crappy wireless signal at the back of the house when the router is right at the front of the house. The computer room upstairs which already has the hole in the wall for the old cable modem, is in the middle of the house and really the perfect place.

The same question would still stand anyway really, what cat5e cable, is any cable suitable to be run outside in the rain.

Run a cat6 cable outside and put a switch upstairs and a wireless access point if you need it.For best gaming connection you can then just plug your gaming rig to the switch and the other can use wireless or run several cables from the switch to the pc.you can also do power line as said by Mel P.Google for External Grade Cat6 Cable for outdoor installation.I have also check the cable is also available at the bay.

What he said ^

Best to have the shortest distance possible to the modem from the main socket, powerline adapters are also not a bad idea either but they are no substitute for a proper bit of cable.

Another way would be to switch to using a stand alone ADSL modem that could sit by the phone socket, you could then run a bit of Cat5 out of this and into the router that you could put upstairs to save you the need for separate access points etc. (though you'd need to buy a new router, one for cable type connections instead of an ADSL one).

Also always a good idea to run a pair of cables anyway just in case one fails, you never know :) As for the type to be honest any reasonable Cat5 will do, but it never hurts to do things properly so as has been recommended just google for some external grade stuff.
