In VMWare Player I have Server 2003 (domain controller) and an XP machine. XP has joined the domain and can share files and everything. It's perfect.
For my college course I need to show a "concept" of internet access to a client through a server. In VMWare on my server 2003 I have added two network cards. One a bridged connection for the domain controller and then the other to NAT so I can pickup my net access on my home router. On my server I can see the internet fine and when I load up webpages I can see the green light of network adapter 2 flashing.
My bridged connection is set as -
IP - 192.168.100.1
Subnet - 255.255.255.0
No Gateway set
DNS as 192.168.100.1
My NAT connection is -
IP - 192.168.11.135
Subnet - 255.255.255.0
Gateway - 192.168.11.2
DNS - 192.168.11.2
My client is DHCP on range 192.168.100.20 to 192.168.100.50
I had to disable vmware dhcp service to get that working properly ^
So I started up Routing and Remote Access on my server and selected custom configuration then LAN routing.
I don't want to mess anything up. Microsoft says to use static routes to let my client get internet access but not sure. Anyone have configurations specific to my setup to use to achieve this with static routes or anything else?
Thanks
