Are these cars any good? THe ones with the Honda engines?

Im considering getting it and selling the almera my parents got me

Just make sure you get a ti version in good nick making sure you give the car a really good check all over, I didn't and ended up with a dog that will soon have cost me more than I paid for it :(

Other than they are fantastic cars to drive and insurance is stupidly cheap :D

Well, im actually 17 :p and fancied a fastish car.

I did a insurance quote and it was £800 :D

Im planning to spend less than £1000 on one though.

The Rover 600 is fundamentally a pretty decent car. I looked into buying one, and came up with the following pro's and cons:

+ Honda reliability at Rover prices.. engine wise anyway. All the non turbo models are Honda powered. Look after it, and it'll look after you
+ Reasonable, but not brilliant, level of standard kit
+ Pretty discreet looks, looks rather nice
+ Fantastic value for money, they are seriously cheap

- High specification models are rare in manual form, and not actually that loaded with kit
- Little in the way of nice styling options - it's going to look pretty plain.
- Does not handle as well as Mondeo and 406
- High end models do not have the equipment levels of Mondeo

I bought a Mondeo instead, whilst I am convinced I made the right choice, a 600 isn't exactly a bad choice. It depends what your priorities are. You might also want to look at the 406 - although performance isn't on-par with rivals.

the 600`s are nice under rated cars
i have a 600 diesel(full electrics/full leather/aircon/ABS etc) cost me £900 for a S reg.
fitted a tuning box so its now kicking out around the 135bhp mark and still in the 40`s mpg.
you maybe lucky and get a Ti for a grand but it may not be in great shape
but as said the Ti has a rover T series engine not a Honda

Do the 618s use a honda engine too?
Insurance and car tax over here is a bit mental on the 620 but not too bad on the 618.. The later 618s came with a fair bit of kit, so I'm looking at them to maybe buy at the end of the summer.

My dad had a 620 a few years back and I loved driving it as did he.
