Anyone know any good metro forums?

My neighbours car won't start. It has fuel getting to it but just turns over, trying to start but failing.

Pop the choke in then try again, or pop it out then try again. My Mrs has one and does this after it's rained a lot.

Aww Ian, aren't you the helpful type :p After owning a mini you should know all of the tricks! Is it getting a spark?

Its an injection. The coil isn't getting any -v and +v is about 10v (battery is fine at 12v). Cleaned up one of the earth points (main one from battery) but can't find any others... Also the battery light is dim.

The guys on retro rides could probably help, there's a few on there who have/have had metros.

You checked for a spark against the block when you turn it over? Don't some coils run on less than 12v? eg those with ballast resistors. Not sure if the metro would.

What he said :) Do you get any dash lights at all when sticking the ign on? Do the dash lights dim when you turn the key over? If so, points to a dodgy battery

The batter is good, just the battery light that is dim. I think its an earth problem .
