So, I recently sold a hard drive on the MM, but it went missing in the post :( I used Special Delivery and everything, and I've got my original receipt, but on the claim form, it asks me to send the original receipt for the product I was sending that was lost. Now, I bought the hard drive 2nd hand quite a while ago and don't have a reciept.

Wat do? :(

I would have thought they would refund you the value you insured it for? Assuming Special Delivery was insured, if not then...valuable lesson for you.

I'm guessing they want it as proof of value for the hard drive so they can refund you? Got any other hard drive receipts around you could use instead? How are RM going to know it's not for the one they lost.

if you sold it on ebay you can send in the a copy of the ebay listing page. I lost a game in the post 2 years ago. I send in the ebay page as proof of value and got a refund

Print off a "receipt-like document" which is what you would give the person buying the hard drive (even if you don't normally give people receipts for second hand products). So a receipt for the price you sold it at...

have a google for a suitable invoice template or generate a paypal invoice then just write it out to include your details and the value you want, include buyers address, send to RM, job done.
