ROYAL MAIL JUNK MAIL - OPT OUT

I heard a little bit about this on the radio last night. I fell asleep listening to it so I might have missed something but I'm sure I remember a claim that junk mail helps subsidise the price of stamps etc.

So with ever increasing piles o junk mail is being stuffed through my door yet they still feel the need to increase postage costs.. hmmm... Email sent...

I opted out a couple of years ago and I must say it's been mostly successful. During this time I have only got the 'To the owner/occupier' type mail on a handful of occasions, so it does work...

Rather just pay for the stamps and remember junk mail isn't free the companies who pay the junk mail producers have to charge their customers to do it :p

I was just going to email them........then remembered that most of our junk mail comes from local fast food joints getting some poor employee to go street to street shoving leaflets through doors every weekend.

You think they would realise that if you haven't ordered from them after the first few weeks then you are unlikely to ever!!

Instead we get the same leaflets through, week after week........:(

I need the junk mail because our hamster needs bedding :)

I also like the junk mail, I put it all thru the shredder, so that if some dodgy scrote decides to make a jigsaw out of my shredded personal document, its that little bit harder with loads of pointless letters included.

Address sent. Up to now, with the junk that has prepaid envelopes for returns (stuff trying to push loans, insurance etc) I swap the blank applications, leaflets etc and stuff them in someone elses envelopes and post them off.
Not sure if that's putting extra strain on Royal Mail or not, but as I never asked for the crap, it makes me feel better.
