Royal Mail Question

Hey

Just a quick question I've got.

Purchased an item almost a week ago and sent payment via PayPal gift.

Been given the royal mail recorded tracking number and when it is tracked I get the "going through the delivery network message."

Communicating with the seller about the time its taking, and was reccomended to fill out a "Re-Delivery" form.

Problem is I haven't received the while you were out card.

My main query is, is this safe to do or would it void claiming in the lost parcel form?

Never had to claim for lost parcel before, and don't want to go through some loophole by asking for delivery and then not being able to fill in the form.


Probably being over cautious, but if anyone could confirm that'd be great.

Pop down to your local callers office, ask them if it is there.

Give your local sorting office a call first just to see if its hanging around there, but then as far as I'm aware any dealings with royal mail for compensation or anything like that should be carried out by the seller

Yep. Sometimes the postmen can't even be arsed to deliver the magic red cards to tell you that they couldn't be arsed to deliver your parcel.

Have a read of the P58 process for claiming (the seller will have to complete this though)

It might be worth calling RM (08457 740 740) as they are able to see with more detail in the RMGTT system where recorded items are

Or sometimes they just run out of cards and write it on an envelope which you then miss
