someone sent me out a processor y'day at around 1pm, sent special guarinteed by 1pm today...

my normal postie has been and no cpu, so will someone wlse from the RM deliver it or is it just not going to arrive? :(
 
it isnt guaranteed for saturday's its only weekdays, when some people post saying about getting it saturday for special deliveries sometimes its outta pure luck it happens.
 
I find Special Delivery works very well - you certainly pay for the service, but when you need it.
I sold a 9800Pro via Paypal and the buyer desperately needed it before the weekend.
The auction finished at 11:00am on the Thursday.
I sent it special Delivery at around 5:00pm on the Thursday and he had it at 9:00am on the Friday morning - excellent service.

They also do a Special Delivery for Saturday's - but that is a premium feature and unless selected anything sent Friday will arrive on the Monday.
 
I often get stuff delivered here on Saturdays if it's Special Delivery (can't remember ever having to wait the weekend), but as said above it's not guaranteed for weekend delivery.
 
Special Delivery needs signed for but is guaranteed next working day. Recorded Delivery is basically first class but needs signed for, ie not guaranteed next day but more than likely will be.

Cost, as usual, is dependant on weight, http://www.royalmail.co.uk will give details.


EDIT: Bizarrely you can actually get Recorded Second Class which means it needs signed for 4 months later....

special delivery 9 times out of 10 do delivery on saturdays but sending friday will only guarantee it for monday

Guess it depends on area, im only a 5 min walk from the sorting office so I guess that helps
 
Had my first experence with RM special delivery on Wednesday. I brought a STIHL top handeled chainsaw off ebay. Guy sent it on the tuesday and it arived about 7:30 Wednesday was dead chuffed. For £20 though i was expecting good service and i got it. I wasn't expecting it that early though had to get up to answer the door:(
 
rmsd is all good and well but my regular first class is always next day, had many a place post me something late afternoon and it has arrived next day
 
I love RMSD it's never failed me, nearly always arrives before 9am and I often get it on saturday when it's sent on friday. Compared to Amtrack or City Link it's always been bullet-proof for me.

Man I hate couriers... so unreliable.
