RPG type game required...

I fancy spending a few hours on a new RPG type game so what's a good one to get?
I liked the Diablo, Dungeon Seige & FF type series but didn't really get in Oblivion (didn't play the earlier versions) or Witcher, it must have swords and experience points:)
 
The obvious one is Titan Quest, unlike Diablo it's quite a bit more of a love/hate game.

Personally I loved it, might be worth a try?
 
Have you played Knights of the old Republic 1 & 2?

they are very good games and you can get lost in them for hours, i also beleive Mass Effect is coming to PC so i would keep an eye out for that.

If you're looking for a new RPG I take that you've played the baldur's gate series, planescape, NWN1, KOTOR I & II etc?

Well there's NWN2 and mask of the betrayer, jade empire, and Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (yes it has swords).

The next AAA RPG due is fallout 3 and supposedly BG3 and dragon-age are in development
 
I know you're after a high fantasy style rpg, but don't discount Mass Effect which comes out on the pc in a month or so.

For hack n slash, Titans Quest and Sacred.
For humor/quirkyness, Planescape: Torment and The Bards Tale.
For story and depth, the Baldurs Gate series. Morrowind is also good.

I know this isn't what you asked for, but I'd also consider picking up a ps2. There's so many excellent rpg's on that platform I wouldn't know where to start. You may not like console rpg's though, I dunno.
 
another nudge for Titan Quest here plus its expansion Immortal Thrones.

later this year though some good ones should come out, namely Space Siege and Sacred 2, looking forward to both myself. :)
 
Wow, Titan Quest looks really quite nice for an old game, and the game play seems very similar to Diablo. Think I'll check out the demo as well :P
