RROD has me worried.

Had the RROD last week and now it's off being repaired by Microsoft.
The console froze when playing Gears of War 2, so I restarted and got a E79 Error. After trying to restart the 360 again I got the full 3 light RROD.
I just thought this was going to be the usual RROD overheating problems and sent it off, but after a bit of digging about on the web I've found out that the E79 error is a Hard Drive issue.
Now this has me worried that when I get the console back from MS I'm still going to have the same problem when I reconnect the Hard Drive and I will end up loosing all my data and game saves that are on the Hard Drive.:(

There is nothing wrong with your hard drive, it's just a symptom of the RRoD issues. My friends console had exactly the same issue, and it was cured in the same way as fixing the RRoD.

My 360 Elite has just got the 3 red rings and is being collected tomorrow,

First time this has happend for me,

Whats the turn around time ussually like nowadays because I remember reading early on that it was taking upto a month.

Just got mine back, and everything is working.:D No more Hard Drive worries.

My repair, from pickup to return took 11 days.

Also came back with a months free Xbox Live.

My 360 got collected today,

He said it should take upto 10 days so I am hoping to have it back by the end of next week.
