RROD for the first time ever, my launch system has finally died now i get the joy of going to buy a new 360 and hassle MS about getting one of their crappy transfer cables for my data.. ive got half a mind not to buy another 360 but ive invested in so many game i guess i have to.

i have had no problems with it at all for almost 4 years, then i build my new PC and i have hardly touched it in about 2 weeks and i go to slap CoD5 on because my mates have probably out ranked me and now i get RROD :(

RIP Launch 360 2005 - 2009.:(

Why do you need to transfer the data? Swap the HD to a new box and carry on.. (?)
I got my launch day console (3xRROD) fixed under warranty this week - got it back today as it happens.

Should try MS just to see if they'll still repair it.

If not, buy an arcade unit and slap your existing harddrive onto it and sell any unwanted peripherals (wired controller, memory unit etc) to recoup some of the losses, sorted.
