RS1700T

A replica of a still born Group B project, Ford took a bath with this one and realised into its development cycle when it became obvious that 4WD was where they needed to be. I think they only built a couple of them in the end.

About 18 IIRC. Shame the replica has the stupendously heavy YBT instead of the proper BDT, but they are a bit thin on the ground as well.

Im looking forward to my mates project being done, its a mix of a Consul and a Corvette.
Also another guy is finishing off his Cortina, absolutley mint.

Didn't Ari Vatanen try his best to kill most of the originals? :D Lovely things though, and with a lottery win i would have one in the collection along with a GT70 for the 'whasthat' factor...
:)

Yes would have been him on the way to the Swinging Bridge next to the trafford centre where we all meet.

Cheers.

I thought that sighting, the location of his business and this thread were too much of a coincidence!

It certainly looked the part, but did sound like a Sierra with a Cossie YB engine though....

I've had a hankering for a mk4 escort, just love them for some reason. See if I can get a nice shell and dump newer running gear in to it.

Car looks a bit too rally for me, but still nice :D

I'd love a gartrac escort - wouldn't want a boa v6 in it, heavy and a bit out of kilter with the style of car if you ask me - rather have a turbo so a YB, or something naturally aspirated on throttle bodies that revs highly....!
