Can someone spec me an rSAP compatible phone for my VW premium phone prep.....neither my iPhone or Galaxy Nexus supports rSAP.

I am thinking about just getting a cheapo PAYG phone to leave in the car...unless their is an easy way to get rSAP compatibility on my Nexus.

Does it have to be rSAP compatible? I've used my Seat BT with virtually every phone launched in the last 2 years and none have had issues. This assumes there hasn't been a new bluetooth module since 2010 which I don't think there has been.

yeah, it has to rSAP compatible as the VW is not a handsfree system, it is an integrated phone system that piggybacks your phones SIM.

Looks like I am going to have to root my Nexus and pay £8 for the rSAP app.....if I can figure out how to root my phone.

iPhone doesn't want to know either. :(

When you pair it does your phonebook get transfered at all? The VAG BT module uses remote SIM and Headset profile (android calls this "Call Audio") in tandem, it first does the address book transfer (admittedly - poorly. It conforms to SIM contact profile so 8 char contact names, joy) and then invokes headset when the calls go through.

I'm running the trio of Samsung galaxies currently as i no longer test handsets for job so it may be the case the nexus got the short stick and only runs headset or something. I had to give explicit permission for address book access on Android I'm pretty sure, appeared on first pairing.

Check out the program I linked to - if you can figure out how to type a couple of numbers in on a keyboard then you can root your phone. ;)

It doesn't pair, that is the issue....without rSAP the phone is incompatible.

Downloaded a different toolkit.....a lot of messing about and woohoo.....it works.

Seemless integration into my VW.

Thanks chaps, saved me buying a new phone.
